The Boyz of the Evil Sunz

    Boyz are the backbone of any Ork army, so I wanted mine to be distinctly Evil Sunz in appearance.  I figured I would achieve this by using lots of motorcycle helmets, bomber caps and welding masks.  I've sourced bits from Kromlech, Spellcrow and Wargames Exclusive to make them unique.  I have this crazy idea that I can make every single boy unique, and so far so good.  Unfortunately once you run out of the standard array of arms and such (even from extra kits like bikers and stormboyz), you have to start getting creative.  Plasticard weapons will be common amongst the boyz to achieve the desired level of diversity.

    I like the idea that the Age of Sigmar 'Ardboy helmets could be full face motorcycle helmets in Ork society.  The plan is to make the first mob of boyz very biker centric, with shiny bits on their heads to create cohesion.  I've dubbed them "Gorgrimm's Krome'eadz" accordingly.  Gorgrimm means "Red Jaw" in Orkish, and the corresponding Ork Nob will be painted accordingly.  Many of the Krome'eadz will have their legs (either electively or otherwise) replaced by wheeled and tracked conveyances.  Evil Sunz love to go fast, and even lowly boyz with too few teef to purchase vehicles of their own will find ways to do so.

    The basing is meant to invoke the aesthetic of Gorkamorka, a barren salt flat littered with rusty scrap.  Vegetation collects near rocks and gravel where water can be preserved for a short time.  I'm an ecologist by training so I hope to expand on the ecosystem of the planet more than is probably necessary.  More on my Orks' home planet will follow in future articles.
