'Eavy Metal Haul of Vintage Orks and a classic Meganob

     A friend at the gaming club decided to sell off his vintage Ork collection, so I jumped on it like a facebiter squig.  I haven't counted the models yet, but I would number them somewhere north of 200, most of which are unique sculpts.  I immediately pulled out a Nob in 'Mega Armour' and cut my teeth on these guys. After stripping the paint using Citri-Strip, I re-based him on a 32mm GW round and cleaned up the metal best as I could.  I like to think of these older model projects as restorations of a sort.   I used Vallejo German Red Brown primer and followed it with a generous soft dry brush of white as an undercoat.  All of my regular paints are made by Warcolours, a gel based line out of Cypress.  They are fairly transparent and glaze very well, and while this is a nice quality it does take a while to build up color. The Boyz of the Evil Sunz

     Boyz are the backbone of any Ork army, so I wanted mine to be distinctly Evil Sunz in appearance.  I figured I would achieve this by using lots of motorcycle helmets, bomber caps and welding masks.  I've sourced bits from Kromlech , Spellcrow and Wargames Exclusive to make them unique.  I have this crazy idea that I can make every single boy unique, and so far so good.  Unfortunately once you run out of the standard array of arms and such (even from extra kits like bikers and stormboyz), you have to start getting creative.  Plasticard weapons will be common amongst the boyz to achieve the desired level of diversity. Choppa / Slugga Boyz of the Evil Sunz      I like the idea that the Age of Sigmar 'Ardboy helmets could be full face motorcycle helmets in Ork society.  The plan is to make the first mob of boyz very biker centric, with shiny bits on their heads to create cohesion.  I've dubbed them "Gorgrimm's Krome'ead...
